Skuldugerry Book 1

When I showed this book to my classmates, they thought it looks cool, because the pages are orange, (how sad!) they didn't even care about the contents...and they even like the 2nd book , because it was green...:-)

The plot is not that complicated and is easily followed with intense fighting sequences, and enough twists in the story line make this an enjoyable read for both children and adults alike. Though for younger readers I would recommend it for ages 12 and up because of the action scenes. ! but I got this book when I was only 10.

A must read book...You wont regret it...Im reading the 2nd book, and I am glued to it..

Book store trip.

Last weekend, I get the chance to use the voucher that I got last Christmas, I went to borders with my mum, this is a massive bookstore here in Glasgow...It's up to 3rd floor, and you can actually get lost if you dont know your way out. :-)

My sister and I enjoyed it. It's like our sanctuary, my sister also loves books. I got 5 books for myself. I am quite into these "SKulduggery pleasant books that I got from my great aunt. So I bought the 2nd book...

It's probably my lucky day, because I also got the guitar hero game...I am addicted to it...it's on SALE for £39.99. I used all my pocket money , but it's all worth it...heheheh

Secret seven

Enid Blyton- is also one of my favourite authors. Unfortunately I only got 5 books of the series Secret Seven, everytime mum and I go to the library, we couldn't find no. 6 instead they only have 8,9 and 10, but I don't want to skip it. So I will wait, and might find my luck soon.

This series follows the adventures of a strictly secret society made up of 7 children, who like to solve mysteries that they happen upon, or actively go looking for!

The characters:

1. Peter is the head and leader of the secret society. He is very strict with members and takes his responsibilities very seriously indeed! -
2. Janet is Peter's younger sister. She is a serious member of the Secret Seven, who takes direction from her brother Peter, for the most part very well.
3. Jack is often seen as second in command and possibly best friends with Peter and enjoys being a loyal friend and member of the society. He appears to play a more prominent role than Colin or George in the adventures (he gets into trouble for being so forgetfull at times.)
4. Colin is not such a prominent member of the Seven as some of the others, but still gives a rounding to the group as a whole .
5. George is also not a very prominent member of the society but still appears to take his role seriously and with a sense of humour.
6. Pam is portrayed as a very giggly girl, who doesn't appear to take things as seriously and solemnly as the others. Pam can also be quite jumpy and close to tears at the smallest of things.
7. Barbara can nearly always be found with Pam, giggling about something as can be seen

I highly recommend this book to everyone, (boys and girls.) I got these book on my 10th bday. they're made for very light reading, good books for collection.

LOTR

When I was about 9, that was the first time my Dad lets me watch Lord of the rings. He's got the full selection of DVD's director's cut...I enjoyed the movie but I was a bit frigthened then and remembered snuggling in my dad's arm while were watching it.

Now he gave me these collection of books (Tolkien) of LOTR. I always prefer the books than the movie, but I haven't finish reading them all, cos my mum kept on buying me books. I still have to do my homework from School and ofcourse enjoy my Wii games during the weekend, so apparently I only read books before I go to bed.

Books for Kids

I was tidying up my room last weekend and I saw all my old books when I was in Primary School. I used to love Horrid Henry -he is a fictional character created by Francesca Simon and illustrated by Tony Ross. The first Horrid Henry book was written and published in 1993 and as of the end of 2007, there have been sixteen titles published, as well as numerous collections, activity books and joke books. The combined sales of all the Horrid Henry books and audiobooks now stands at over ten million copies. Horrid Henry is published in twenty five languages around the world. In February 2008, an exhibition, "Up to Mischief with Horrid Henry", opened at the Seven Stories Centre for Children's Books

- Captain Underpants-I thought this book was hilarious, I remember reading this and giggling until 12 midnite in my room. Captain Underpants is the main hero of the series. He always wears a red cape with black polka-dots and a pair of white briefs. He is actually Mr. Krupp hypnotized to think he is "Captain Underpants," a character created by George and Harold. Whenever Mr. Krupp hears the sound of fingers snapping, he turns back to Captain Underpants which causes George and Harold to follow him and keep him out of trouble. Captain Underpants turns back into Mr. Krupp when water is poured on his head. He gained his superpowers by drinking some "Extra Strength Super Power Juice" found on an alien spaceship.

Charlie Bone Series

The very first time I read about Jenny Nimmo's Books was when my mum gave me the first series of Charlie Bone (Midnight for Charlie Bone), since then I got hooked and kept on requesting for the latest series. Now I got 6 of them (to date)

The stories are centred on Charlie Bone, a young boy and descendant of The Red King, who reluctantly possesses a powerful endowment, along with many of his friends who he meets at a special school he attends called Bloor's Academy. (you might say-it sounds like Harry Potter-but for me, Charlie Bone is much better) His family, the Yewbeams, have many dark secrets and Charlie Bone embarks on a series of mysterious adventures to find out the truth about his past.

My Favourite Author

I thought I will share about one of my favourite authors...Jenny Nimmo-

Nimmo is the author of The Snow Spider, the winner of the Smarties prize, and Griffin's Castle, which was short-listed for the Smarties Prize, the Carnegie Medal and the Whitbread award. Her Children of the Red King series, which includes the New York Times and Book Sense best seller Charlie Bone and the Invisible Boy, has sold over two million copies.

Nimmo's love of books was evident at an early age. At nine years old she had already read all of the books in her school's junior library and was begging for permission to join the senior library. Jenny realized early in her childhood that writing stories could be as much fun as reading them. So began her years of writing and thrilling her friends with creepy stories
Before Nimmo established her career as a writer, she worked in television adapting other people's stories for television programs. When she tried her hand at writing her own television program, her producer suggested that with some added length it would make a wonderful novel. This novel became her first book, The Bronze Trumpeter, which was published in 1975.
Nimmo conducts a simple life of writing. She lives in an old water mill in Wales and begins her day of writing only after the chickens, rabbits, and cats have all been fed. She writes her stories out in longhand, editing as she goes. Then, once her manuscript is complete, she types it up on a computer for her publisher's review. During the summer she puts down her pencil to help her husband run a summer school at their home.
